ANNUAL OPEN TRY OUTS

Please read the following information before moving on to the registration area.

The Glen Rock Shooting Stars Annual Open Try Outs will be conducted by professional evaluators. Players will be evaluated in several areas including skills, general sense of the game, attitude and overall athletic ability.

Please note:

1. This is a competitive try-out; not all players will “make” a team…
2. All players must try-out in their appropriate age groups (see listing)…
3. The number of teams formed in each age group will depend on the number of qualified/committed players…
4. All players must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their assigned start time for registration…
5. All players must wear proper attire, including shin guards (players are not permitted to participate without them – NJ State Law); each player must also bring water or sports drink, clearly labeled with their name to have with them during the session, players should not leave their field of play…
6. Only players, coaches, and evaluators are permitted on the fields…
7. If your child is selected, please carefully consider the time and financial commitment before accepting membership to the Club.*

*While these commitments vary from team to team, time-wise, you can generally expect age appropriate professional training at least twice a week, weekly games, Memorial Day Weekend Tournament during the Fall and Spring seasons (September-November and April-June). There is also tem training camp(s) during the Summer and indoor training during the Winter, as well as additional tournaments throughout the year. The average cost, again, varies from team to team and is dependent on any additional tournaments and training. Each coach will be able to give more detailed information once the teams are formed and their level of play is determined.

It is necessary for the Club to have all of our member families involved, at times we need to call upon our members to assist with certain events and activities. There are many opportunities throughout the year requiring various amounts of time. Each team’s Parent Rep. will have a complete list of opportunities ready for the first Parent’s Meeting.
