Charter Member of Northern Counties Soccer Association
Welcome to the web site for the Glen Rock Shooting Stars. Our Club pursues one overarching focus: to help our players build and develop skills for the future.
To that end, we’ve structured our program to provide our players with the best possible training opportunities, building not only soccer skills, but a general sense of the game, teamwork, sportsmanship and overall confidence.
Together with our training partners, UK Elite Soccer, we sponsor programs for 3-5 year olds, the Indoor Winter League for K-3rd graders and starting this year, the Shooting Stars Academy for our U7 age group. We also provide summer camps, clinics and Winter training.
The Club is also a proud supporter of Game On Glen Rock, a grass-roots initiative to bring a turf field to Glen Rock. Visit www.glenrockturf.org for more information.
As we work to “build for the future,” we never lose sight of why we’re offering these programs: our kids, close to 400 in all. We will always continue to motivate and inspire our players, acknowledge their efforts and their accomplishments as they move through the “ranks” of youth soccer.Doug Milbrodt, President, Glen Rock Shooting Stars.

FAQs for new parents
A list of questions frequently asked by parents who are new to the Club. If you have further questions, please contact the age-group coordinator or send an e-mail to support@glenrockshootingstars.org.
How much does it cost to join the Shooting Stars?
Costs vary per team, depending on how often they train and the number of tournaments they enter, but annual dues usually range from $500-$700, split between the Fall and Spring seasons. We do over $25 discounts on registration fees for families that have more than one child in the Club.
When do teams practice?
Again, the practice schedule varies by team, based on the coach’s availability and more important, the availability of their trainer. During the week, practices could start as early as 4 or 5 p.m. for the younger teams and as late as 6:30 or 7 p.m. for our older teams.
When do teams play games?
During the Fall, our Boys games are typically scheduled on Saturday, while girls play on Sunday. This means we are not in direct conflict with Rec soccer games. However, our teams will participate in tournaments which may require them to play on Sundays and make-up games may be scheduled on weekends or during the week. During the Spring, both boys and girls teams play on Sunday.
When will you notify parents if their child has made the team?
Each age group coordinator will try to form teams for next year no later than the last official weekend of the season, which this year will fall on June 20. In some cases, they may contact parents sooner.
I thought soccer was a fall sport only?
The Shooting Stars participate in the Northern Counties Soccer Association, which plays during both the Spring and Fall season. In addition, many teams are also active through the winter in indoor soccer tournaments and leagues. At the same time, we also try to accommodate, within reason, children who play other sports, especially during the spring.
